Abstract

The Portuguese National Health System (NHS) ranks 14th in Europe, ahead
of the United Kingdom and Spain; in the last ten years, the Portuguese
government has invested heavily in the maturity of this system, because the
expectations of the population from this free health service are very high. The
SNS from January 2024 is under "major reform".
